How to Get Ready for House Cleaners
By Premier House Cleaning Services Katy · Published
You do not need to clean before the cleaners come. Clear the counters and floors you want cleaned, plan for your pets, share how we get in, and point out delicate or damaged surfaces. Confirm the checklist and any extras like inside the oven, windows or a sheet change before the visit.
Clear the spaces you want cleaned
Pick up clothes, toys, mail and cords from floors and counters so the time goes into cleaning instead of guessing where your things belong. Picking up is different from scrubbing the shower yourself; the scrubbing is what you are paying for.
Decide which rooms are in and close the doors on any that should be left alone. A quick note about a home office or a napping toddler helps. If you want organizing rather than a light tidy, bring it up when you book because it changes the time needed.
- Clear loose items off bathroom counters and shower floors.
- Move dishes out of the sink and off the stovetop.
- Put away jewelry, medication and private paperwork.
- Leave clean sheets out if you asked for a bed change.
Share a safe entry and pet plan
Give us gate codes and parking tips and confirm how we will get inside. Test the door code beforehand and walk us through any alarm. Send access details privately by phone or text, never in a public post or a general contact form.
We are gentle with pets, but it still helps to tell us where they will be. Even a friendly dog can block a doorway or slip out an open door. Let us know about any escape artists or nervous animals so we can plan around them.
Point out special surfaces and existing damage
Natural stone, finished wood, acrylic tubs and high-end appliances can call for different products. Leave out care instructions if you have them. If you are not sure what a surface is made of, just say so, and never mix cleaning products to speed things up.
Mention loose fixtures, cracked glass, damaged grout, leaks and anything already discolored. A good clean can remove the grime and still leave old damage in plain view. A short heads-up keeps everyone clear on what was already there.
Agree on priorities and check the result
Tell us the two or three things that matter most to you, then make sure they fit the service you booked. Inside the oven or fridge, inside cabinets, windows, blinds and sheet changes may need to be added. A photo can help explain the condition, but the agreed checklist is what counts.
When the visit is done, walk through the main rooms with the checklist in mind. If something on the list looks missed, call or text Premier at (281) 519-3694 so we can talk it through. A specific note is far more useful than a general sense that the house feels the same. For an empty home, use the move-out checklist instead.
